as senior year resumes, i notice how much i am going to miss this.
yesterday was my last homecoming.
this volleyball season will be my last.
no more highschool football games.
i will have one more winter formal. sadie hawkins dance. prom.
i will have my last track&field season this year.
and before i know it, it's graduation day.
last views at classmate's faces.
last embraces.
tears streaming down our cheeks.
separate colleges; separate lives.
zero phone calls.
unspoken words.
unseen faces.
and before we know it, we're receiving each other's wedding inviatons.
birth announcements.
baby showers.
funerals.
it's a sore subject.
but it's true.
we wanna believe that we're gonna see each other and nothing's gonna change.
but, everything is gonna change.
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent an a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace."
-ecclesiastes 3:1-8
drops like stars
i was reading a book by Rob Bell, and in it he told a story about how he and his nephew were one day watching the rain through a window. his nephew continuously said, "stars, stars, stars." Rob, confused by his words, looked at his sister-in-law and asked,"why does he keep saying the word star?" she replied,"he believes that when a raindrop hits the ground, for a split second, that it looks like a star."
i had never looked at it that way.
i pray that you may see drops like stars...
i had never looked at it that way.
i pray that you may see drops like stars...
TOMS

I support TOMS and their business whole heartedly. TOMS is an organization that was founded by Blake Mycoskie. What this organization does is with every pair of shoes you purchase a pair of shoes will be given to a child in need. They have also started to sell sunglasses! And the best part? With every pair of sunglasses you purchase, eyesight will be given to a person in need. Blake is also coming out with a book titled, Start Something That Matters. You can pre-order it at the TOMS website or wait until September 6th, 2011 to purchase a copy! And with every book you buy, a book will be given to a child in need. OneForOne. Please support!
